Xero is cloud accounting software for small businesses and for the accountants and bookkeepers who serve them, covering invoicing, bills, bank reconciliation, expense claims, reporting, and payroll delivered with Gusto.

Three US plans are published. Early, at $25 a month, covers 20 invoices and quotes, 5 bills, bank reconciliation, basic graphs, and a 30-day cash flow forecast. Growing, at $55 a month, removes those caps and adds bulk bill entry, W-9 and 1099 management, and a 60-day forecast. Established, at $90 a month, adds multi-currency, project time and cost tracking, employee expense and mileage claims, industry benchmarking, custom dashboards, and a 180-day forecast. No plan charges per-user license fees.

Smart Document capture extracts data from receipts and bills photographed in the mobile app or forwarded by email, then cross-references the result against bank records to catch duplicates. Xero connects with more than 1,000 apps through its App Store, and its own brands include Hubdoc for document capture, Syft for reporting and consolidations, Planday for scheduling, and JAX, its AI assistant. New customers can book sessions with a Xero Coach within their first 90 days.

Xero has been in business since 2006 and reports 5 million customers in more than 180 countries, with 250,000 accountants and bookkeepers in its partner program. Promotional discounts are time-limited, so check the standing plan price, and confirm your bank connects through the Plaid feed Xero uses, before switching ledgers.
