Direct mail & outbound
Upcall
Upcall runs outbound outreach with people rather than dialers. US-based callers work a client's list by phone, email and SMS using agreed scripts, then log notes, book meetings and push the results back into the client's systems.
A project starts with leads uploaded from a CRM, a web form or a spreadsheet. Callers reach out quickly using the script, handle questions and objections, leave personalised voicemails, and retry unresponsive leads several times at different hours with automatic timezone detection. Results sync in real time, and a dashboard carries campaign metrics and call recordings; Zapier pushes outcomes into other apps. Campaign types include cold prospecting, inbound lead follow-up and qualification, appointment setting onto a sales calendar, live transfers to a sales team, surveys and data gathering. Call coverage runs Monday to Sunday, 8am to 9pm.
For property managers the company markets the same machinery as lead generation, follow-up on inbound marketing calls, qualifying tenant inquiries, chasing late rent and debt, and booking open houses. It is backed by Y Combinator and says more than 4,000 companies have used the service, with callers screened, vetted and onboarded before taking work.
Pricing is per project with no long-term commitment. The smallest program targets 1,000 leads; published rates run $3.5 to $5 per lead for up to five call attempts and $3.5 to $7.5 per lead for five to ten attempts, with volume discounts above that. Add-ons cover email and SMS drip sequences and a data-mining service for clients without a list. One caution: the site contradicts itself on how selective its caller network is, claiming the top 5% of applicants on the home page and the top 3% of US-based prospecting agents in the FAQ.
Best for
Owners and managers with a list of at least 1,000 contacts who want US-based people to call, qualify and book appointments without hiring staff. Below that minimum, or for inbound phone answering, it is the wrong shape of service.
