Texas Mobile Home Transport Services

Texas Mobile Home Transport Services moves, installs, and repairs manufactured and modular homes across Texas.

Transport covers single-wide, double-wide, and modular homes, new and used. Installation covers blocking, setting, leveling, and tie-downs according to Texas requirements, and the crews also handle releveling, retro-fit work, repairs, and skirting. The company describes coverage from South Texas to Houston, Dallas, and the Panhandle, and says crews are available seven days a week.

Its FAQ deals with the permitting side of a move: only a licensed installer may install, relevel, or modify any component of a home's foundation; the mover must obtain any required permit from the Texas Department of Transportation before the move; and a new Statement of Location must be filed for the new address, with liens discharged or the lienholder consenting.

The site lists a phone number but no office address, licence number, or price list, and the pages crawled describe Texas service only. Ask for the installer licence number and written coverage area before booking.

Common questions

May I install my own manufactured home?
No. Only a licensed installer may install, relevel, or modify any component of the manufactured home's foundation.
What do I need to do to move my mobile home?
The person or company moving the home must contact the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to obtain any required permit, and a copy of it may need to be submitted with the application for a new Statement of Location. You then apply for a new Statement of Location showing the new site, and any lien holders must be paid off or give written consent to the move.
Is a moving permit required if the home was moved in the past?
It can be. If a Statement of Location applicant had the home moved when they bought it, a copy of the moving permit may be required. If the move was too long ago, or the home was moved without a permit, the applicant may instead provide a tax certificate from the county where the home used to be installed showing no taxes are due. Any taxes owed must be paid.
