Terracon

Terracon is an employee-owned consulting engineering firm of engineers, scientists, and consultants. Its service lines are environmental consulting, geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and facilities engineering, and it serves commercial, federal, healthcare, industrial and logistics, power generation and transmission, transportation, and digital infrastructure clients.

Work is organized around a project lifecycle: site selection, design and mitigation, construction, and asset management. Site work includes preliminary environmental and geotechnical desktop studies sold as Stage1, location intelligence through Pivvot, and environmental contamination assessment (Phase I and Phase II). Clients order and track work through the Compass client portal, and a national accounts program handles multi-site clients. Pavement consulting and sustainability and resiliency services are also offered.

The firm is 100% employee-owned and reports more than 200 locations across the United States and more than 8,000 employees. Its history runs from a 1965 soil testing business in Iowa to the renaming as Terracon Consultants in 1980, and it has integrated more than 80 acquired companies. Headquarters are in Olathe, Kansas. It publishes a total recordable injury rate and a sustainability report.

Fees are quoted per project through a proposal request or the Compass portal. Buyers with properties in several states should ask about the national accounts program and about which local office would staff the work.
