Sunwealth

Sunwealth is a clean energy investment firm in Cambridge, Massachusetts that finances, owns and manages small-scale commercial solar and storage projects. It sits between local solar and storage installers on one side and investors on the other, taking ownership of the project portfolios it funds.

For developers and installers, Sunwealth offers full-stack financing for projects at any phase of development and construction, from early stage through the acquisition of operating assets. Hosts are businesses, municipalities, schools, congregations, farms and community organisations, and a community solar program lets subscribers take bill credits from a local facility rather than installing anything on site.

Investment runs through the Solar Impact Fund, the Solar Justice Fund and a tax equity offering in which investors take direct ownership of a diversified pool of small-scale projects; partners include individuals, foundations, family offices, non-profits, intermediaries and corporations. Sunwealth says it has co-developed, financed and built more than 838 projects, with named sites in Massachusetts, Ohio, Vermont, West Virginia, California and New York. The firm keeps offices in Cambridge and at 15 Maiden Lane in New York.
