Stewart Title is a title insurance underwriter and closing services company with a nationwide network of policy-issuing offices. It handles residential and commercial title insurance, escrow and settlement, and underwrites for independent title agents.

Commercial work runs through a national commercial group organized around a single point of contact, covering single-site, multi-site and multi-state transactions across industrial, education, energy, hospitality, government and bonds, healthcare, retail, multifamily and office assets. Independent agents get underwriting counsel, education and training, integrations with the major title production systems, and front and back office tools and marketing resources.

The company was founded in Galveston, Texas in 1893 and has grown into one of the largest global title insurance companies and underwriters. Underwriting entities include Stewart Title Guaranty Company in the United States, Stewart Title Guaranty in Canada, Stewart Title Ltd. serving the United Kingdom and Australia, and Stewart Title Guaranty de Mexico, with a separate New York metro division. It is licensed to issue policies in the United States plus Australia, Canada, the Bahamas, Mexico and the United Kingdom, and also owns mortgage and real estate services and personal and business insurance businesses.
