SpiderDoor sells access control and tenant-facing software for self-storage facilities: cellular, solar and wireless gate keypads, door alarms and ceiling-mounted motion alarms, a manager app, a tenant app and residential gate systems.

Keypads run on cellular data or an internet connection, so a facility does not need wired infrastructure at the gate. The manager app opens the gate from anywhere with a data signal, and alarm events trigger text notifications to the operator and the tenant. The tenant app is branded for the facility and available for iPhone and Android, letting tenants rent units, pay bills, open the gate and request help. Add-on products include SpiderCall, an AI phone assistant that gives out gate codes, quotes account balances, takes payments or texts a one-time payment link, looks up unit numbers and availability and reads out move-out instructions; a Classic Text Collector that texts a payment link when a delinquent tenant is denied entry at the keypad; and automated Google review request texts after a rental or payment.

The company was founded in 2015 and is based in Birmingham, Alabama. It sells on month-to-month contracts with no long-term commitment and includes a one-year warranty on keypad systems. Its products integrate with management software including Sitelink, Web Self Storage (U-Haul), Syrasoft, Storage Commander and Self Storage Manager.
