RT Specialty is a wholesale distributor of specialty insurance products and services. It sits between retail agents and insurance carriers rather than dealing with insureds directly, and its brokers work in property, casualty, professional lines, transportation and workers' compensation.

Two other units sit alongside the brokerage. RT Binding is a multi-line operation providing small-to-medium binding placements and programs on a national basis, with underwriters holding the authority to turn quotes around quickly. RT Connector is a digital marketplace that lets retail agents quote, bind and manage specialty insurance across a range of products, risks and carriers. Premium finance is offered through Stetson Insurance Funding, and claims are submitted to the RT office where the policy originated.

Listed product lines include commercial umbrella and excess, construction, environmental and construction professional, agribusiness, life sciences, manufacturing, financial institutions, public entity, rail and infrastructure, sharing economy, sports and entertainment, transactional risk and private equity, accident and health, and personal lines including farm and ranch and personal umbrella. The company publishes a broker and underwriter search by product, location or name, and lists office locations in states from California to New York.

RT Specialty was formed in March 2010 and expanded largely by acquiring wholesale brokers; it operates under Ryan Specialty, LLC. Retail agents must be appointed before placing business, so property owners reach RT Specialty only through their own retail agent.
