Outdoor Insurance Group

Outdoor Insurance Group (OIG) was formed in 2010 as a retail agency serving professionals in the outdoor recreation industry. It now works as a managing general agent, underwriting and placing coverage both for outdoor business owners directly and for retail agents placing coverage on behalf of their clients.

The campground and RV park program covers general liability, property including buildings, auto, excess liability, liquor liability and trailer spotting. Facility coverage extends to recreational services, fishing, boating and canoeing, miniature golf, horseshoe pits, playgrounds, swimming pools, organized activities for guests, showers and restrooms, laundry facilities, LP gas sales, a general store, and a restaurant or bar.

Additional coverages listed include equine liability, watercraft liability, gasoline sales, special event coverage, equipment breakdown, cyber liability, business income, blanket additional insured, hired and non-owned auto, and dogs in the insured's care, custody and control. Other programs cover guest and dude ranches, guided trail rides and stables, hunting and fishing guides, hunting leases and preserves, gun ranges, trap, skeet and clay shooting, lodges and resorts, bed and breakfasts, and tour guides and outfitters.

OIG says its staff are outdoor participants themselves and that outdoor insurance is the only business it writes. Applications for brokers and business owners are downloadable from the site. Premiums are quoted per risk, and the states in which OIG can write are not stated on the pages reviewed.
