Park Wi-Fi

Nomadix

Nomadix builds network gateways and managed Wi-Fi technology for visitor-based networks, the guest internet found in hotels, multi-dwelling properties, campgrounds, retail sites and education. Its Visitor-Based Network technology addressed guest authentication, and the current portfolio covers secure network gateways, internet access optimisation, wired and wireless distribution, and user authentication through purpose-built captive portals.

Gateways handle guest authentication through a range of methods, with access customisable for loyalty or VIP guests, and bandwidth management that prioritises access for some guests and redistributes unused bandwidth. Nomadix Cloud provides a single console to configure, monitor and manage deployments. The product range scales from small bed and breakfasts through resorts to convention centres. Adjacent offerings include in-room entertainment, cloud-based telephony, casting, Passpoint, a digital concierge, staff safety and automated service requests.

A separate Energy Management Solution pairs a cloud platform with an on-premise connector that reads occupancy from a local or cloud property management system, then monitors and controls connected smart thermostats and IoT sensors over Wi-Fi, Zigbee and BLE, with schedule and rule enforcement, over-the-air firmware and setting updates, notifications, and analytics. The connector can optionally add a native firewall, guest internet access and dynamic bandwidth management on the same hardware.

Nomadix was founded in 1998 and has been a vendor to large hospitality brands for over 25 years, providing visitor-based networks and managed Wi-Fi in over 150 countries and facilitating more than 5 million connections daily. In April 2024 it joined the ASSA ABLOY Group as part of the Vingcard division. Licences, device and door count upgrades and extra bandwidth are bought through an authorised Nomadix reseller, so pricing comes from a partner rather than the manufacturer.

Best for

Parks, resorts and multi-dwelling properties large enough to run a managed guest network with authentication and bandwidth control, buying through a Nomadix reseller. A small park wanting a plug-in router will find this more than it needs.
