New York Housing Association

The New York Housing Association (NYHA) is the state trade association for factory-built housing in New York, serving as the central office for modular builders, manufacturers, manufactured home communities, and professional services and suppliers. It was incorporated in 1950 to address the concerns of factory-manufactured home builders, retailers and community owners, and has since broadened to the whole factory-constructed residential housing industry.

Association staff and retained professionals monitor state and national legislative activity, regulatory agencies, local and regional zoning and planning board activity, transportation matters, court cases and other industry issues. Recent member-facing material covers removal of the permanent chassis, adoption of the 2025 Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, DMV 82TON questions and attorney recommendations.

Members receive the Housing Now newsletter, continuing education sessions, board meetings and the association's annual convention and trade show, which is in its 76th year. NYHA also runs a consumer-facing site at factorybuiltnewyork.com and a virtual marketplace for factory-built housing in New York. The association is affiliated with the NYS Department of State Division of Building Standards and Codes, the Manufactured Housing Institute, the National Modular Housing Council, the Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform, the Business Council of New York State, the New York State Motor Truck Association, the Association of Towns, the Association of Counties and the New York Conference of Mayors.

Advertising in Housing Now and on the association's two websites is a member benefit with published rates, and member pricing is shown per product. The office is on Watervliet Shaker Road in Latham.
