New Jersey Manufactured Housing Association

The New Jersey Manufactured Housing Association is a non-profit organization established for the betterment and advancement of manufactured housing in New Jersey, based on Nottingham Way in Trenton. It presents itself as a source of information on manufactured homes for homebuyers and for the companies that develop and market factory-built housing, covering the homes, their locations and the lifestyles they suit, from starter homes to retirement homes.

Its members are the industry. The association reports approximately 150 manufactured housing communities and 50 associate organizations among its members, and says its executive director, board and committee members monitor and review the issues affecting the industry, statewide and nationally, and communicate them to members and the public.

Advocacy is handled with outside help: the association retains Princeton Public Affairs Group, which it describes as one of the top state lobbying firms in the country, to track approximately 100 bills in the legislature along with regulatory changes that could affect manufactured housing. The site also points residents to outside resources such as the New Jersey rental assistance program and emergency housing guides.

The association says it has served the manufactured housing industry since 1948. Membership terms and dues are not published, so contact the Trenton office for the current schedule and meeting dates.
