National Apartment Association

The National Apartment Association is the federation of state and local apartment associations, representing owners, managers and suppliers of rental housing from its office in Arlington, Virginia. Membership runs through a local affiliate: joining the affiliate entitles a company to NAA membership and the national resources that come with it.

Members get education and credentialing through the NAA Education Institute, research on rental housing trends, market performance and policy impacts, industry news and magazines, weekly and monthly newsletters, a member savings program, and federal advocacy supported by a legislative and regulatory tracker. There are separate programs for independent rental owners and, through the National Suppliers Council, for suppliers, alongside awards and leadership programs.

NAA is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The United States is divided into 10 geographic regions that appoint delegates to an Assembly of Delegates and each elect at least one Vice President to the Board. Supplier members are represented by the National Suppliers Council and the executives of affiliated associations by the Association Executives Council.

Dues are set by the local affiliate rather than published nationally, so find the affiliate for your market first and ask what national membership adds at your portfolio size.
