Massachusetts Manufactured Housing Association

The Massachusetts Manufactured Housing Association (MMHA) is a statewide not-for-profit organization established in 1996. It represents manufactured housing community owners and operators, manufacturers, insurers, financiers, and suppliers throughout the Commonwealth.

Advocacy is the association's central function: coordinated legislative and regulatory representation that the association describes as far more costly for an individual business to pursue alone, alongside education of public officials, consumers, and industry professionals. It also posts regulatory material for owners, including the HUD forms that must be filed on new construction homes and HUD installer certification, which applies in Massachusetts because the state had no installation program of its own and became a default state under the federal program.

Members meet at annual meetings, educational seminars, and social events, and the association coordinates certifications and informational sessions as industry needs arise. Membership is open to community owners, both privately owned and resident-owned, and to associate members who provide products and services to the industry.

Community membership is $500 annually, which includes the first 30 sites, plus $8 per site above 30. Associate membership is $700 annually. The association is led by a volunteer board of community owners and operators and an executive director, and is reached at a post office box in Halifax.
