It files and argues protests against county appraisal district valuations, handles business personal property appeals, and carries cases into arbitration or litigation when hearings fall short.

On a protest the firm files the paperwork, gathers property information, researches recent sales, market trends and comparable properties, reviews valuation history and income and cost data, builds the case, and represents the owner through informal and appraisal review board hearings. It also handles renditions, corrections and exemption filings, though additional filing fees can apply. Business personal property work covers equipment, inventory and depreciation schedules.

The firm began in 2009 as an offshoot of a commercial real estate appraisal firm founded in 1999, and describes itself as one of the few remaining independent, family-owned operations in its field.
