Fund administration

Juniper Square

Juniper Square sells connected software and fund administration services to private markets general partners in real estate, private equity and venture capital. The platform covers the partnership lifecycle: fundraising and onboarding, investor management and reporting, and fund accounting.

Fundraising runs on data rooms, digital subscriptions, fundraising dashboards and managed close services. Investor management models complex structures and waterfalls, calls and distributes capital, calculates performance metrics, and generates and distributes investor statements and reports from one record. The administration business adds expert accounting, treasury, accounts payable and investor services behind the same portal, with approval workflows and audit logs, on-demand partner capital account balances and structured records for tax and audit season.

Moving onto the platform is a migration project rather than a signup. Juniper Square says its onboarding team of more than 30 experts has migrated over 32,000 investments for more than 2,000 clients, working through data transfer and strategy, general ledger configuration, migration of historical balances, a quality assurance and review pass, then a customer success manager and a first quarter of services during which the prior administrator's final financials are ingested.

The company was founded in 2014. It reports more than 2,000 GPs and 650,000 investors using the platform, over 40,000 investments and more than $1 trillion of investor equity managed through it, fund administration covering over $200 billion of assets, SOC-1 and SOC-2 compliance, and 94% annualized retention of its fund accounting and investor services staff. No pricing is published, so ask how fees scale with fund count, investor count and the scope of administration services.
