Specialty coverage
Jencap
Jencap is a national wholesale insurance intermediary that works through retail agents rather than directly with insureds. Its divisions and affiliate companies underwrite across property, casualty, construction, environmental, energy, professional lines, personal lines, transportation and garage, workers' compensation, healthcare, hospitality and cannabis.
Business reaches Jencap three ways. Wholesale brokerage places hard-to-place accounts with carriers; binding authority covers property and casualty and transportation and garage risks the team can bind directly; and Jencap Program Administrators, a managing general agency and underwriter serving the United States and Canada, administers more than 30 admitted and non-admitted programs under five program brands. Programs closest to real estate are Coastal Condominiums, a non-admitted property and liability program for small coastal condominium associations under $10M TIV in DE, MD, NJ, NY, PA and VA, targeting owner-occupied frame buildings and underwritten in-house, and Commercial Self-Storage, which packages BOP, liability, umbrella and property cover for storage facilities. Each program page publishes a named program contact, phone number and submission email.
The firm operates 49 offices countrywide and says it is licensed to work with any retail office in any state. Its program administration arm reports $600 million in total program premium. Corporate headquarters is at 1350 Broadway, Suite 1400, New York. Jencap continues to buy: it announced the acquisition of Concorde General Agency in September 2026.
Because Jencap is wholesale, coverage has to be placed through your own retail agent, and program eligibility is narrow. Confirm which affiliate or program would take the risk, in which states, and what the submission requirements are; the coastal condominium program, for example, asks for a condo supplemental application and three years of currently valued loss runs.
Best for
Retail agents who need a market for a habitational, coastal condominium, self-storage, contractor or other hard-to-place commercial risk. Property owners cannot buy direct; they need their own agent to approach Jencap.
