J Turner Research is a Houston, Texas research and online reputation company that works exclusively with the multifamily industry. It measures how apartment communities are perceived by residents and prospects, and sells the tools to act on what it finds.

Its best-known product is the ORA score, an Online Reputation Assessment. Each month the firm collects the visible online ratings for apartment communities from leading review sites and internet listing services, checks the data for quality, and runs it through a proprietary algorithm to produce a score. Every community with online ratings gets a monthly ORA score whether or not it is a customer, which is what makes the measure comparable across properties, portfolios, and competitors. ORA evaluates feedback across 22 operational areas, connecting maintenance, communication, cleanliness, and service delivery to resident perception.

Around that sit the rest of the platform: resident, prospect, and employee surveys; a review management tool; a review and survey response service delivered with AI support and human guidance; social media management; business listing management across hundreds of listings; and ORA Monitoring for tracking scores and competitors.
