Gates & access control
Gatewise
Gatewise is an access control platform for multifamily communities. Residents open car gates, pedestrian doors, amenity spaces, and unit doors from a mobile app, from Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, or by voice through Siri or Google Assistant, in place of clickers, fobs, keypad codes, and call boxes.
Managers work from a cloud portal that monitors entries across properties in real time, flags patterns such as shared credentials or a door left propped, keeps exportable audit logs, and sets role-based permissions with time and location limits for staff, maintenance, and contractors. Certified integrations with Yardi, RealPage, Entrata, and ResMan sync through the day so access activates on the lease start date and deactivates at lease end, with unit transfers handled automatically and resident data staying in the PMS. Residents send temporary digital keys on a schedule and can revoke them, and visitors scan a QR code to call the resident directly.
The receivers run on cellular networks, so no internet has to be run to each gate or door, with Bluetooth for proximity, NFC for tap entry, and battery backup against outages. Gatewise says small properties install in hours and larger ones in one to two days, using certified local installers backed by its implementation team. Plans run Essential for gate and amenity access, Advanced adding Wallet access and self-guided tours, and Complete adding unit locks, and the company also sells into self storage and student housing.
Software is a monthly subscription with hardware and per-access-point installation quoted separately, so ask for a quote that breaks out hardware, installation, and subscription lines.

Common questions
- What is included in each Gatewise plan?
- Every plan includes the resident mobile app, the cloud management portal, PMS integrations, guest access, and three layers of customer success support. Essential covers gate and amenity access, Advanced adds Wallet access and self-guided tours, and Complete extends access control to unit locks. Hardware is priced separately from the software subscription.
- How much does installation cost?
- Installation is priced per access point based on the community's configuration. Because the hardware is cellular-first, there is no internet run to each gate, so small setups install in hours and larger systems in a couple of days. A quote breaks out hardware, installation, and subscription separately.
- Does Gatewise work with our property management system?
- Gatewise holds certified integrations with Yardi, RealPage, Entrata, and ResMan that sync automatically through the day. The PMS stays the source of truth for resident data: new move-ins gain access on the lease start date, move-outs lose it at lease end, and unit transfers update automatically, which removes double entry.
- Who handles installation and support?
- Certified local installers carry out each setup, backed by the Gatewise implementation team from kickoff through resident onboarding. Support has three layers: direct support for residents through the app, 24/7 support for the management team, and onsite hardware support, with remote troubleshooting and replacement hardware shipped when needed.
