Home movers
Gaskins Mobile Home Transport
Gaskins Mobile Home Transport, LLC hauls manufactured, modular, mobile and tiny homes, park model RVs, campers and trailers, along with boats and other oversized loads, from a base in Greeneville, Tennessee. The company says it is one of the very few movers that will cross state lines.
The work goes past hauling. Gaskins will pick a home up at the manufacturer's lot or any other location and deliver it to a dealer's lot or a private site, prepare the lot, dig and pour footers, set any manufactured or modular home regardless of size or roof pitch, tie the home down to state code, and in Tennessee run water and sewer under the home, with contacts for septic tanks and field lines. It also provides escorts for oversized loads, and teardown, demolition and landfill disposal of old homes, boats and equipment.
The company says it has been transporting for over 25 years and is licensed, bonded, insured, tagged, permitted and trained in Tennessee and North Carolina, with service in several other states. It is headquartered near Interstates 40, 26 and 81 at 301 Bohannon Ave, Greeneville, TN 37745, and won the People's Choice Award in Greene County in 2013. Employees are covered by insurance, workers' compensation and benefits.
Because of demand, the company gives preference to moves that begin, end or pass within 100 miles of East Tennessee, and it states that any service depends on distance, location, cost, time and manpower, so not every request can be taken. The site's founding date is inconsistent: the home page says the owner has been in the mobile home business since 1996, while the About page says the business dates from 1998. Office is (423) 639-7502, cell (423) 444-0450.
Best for
Community owners, dealers and homeowners in East Tennessee and western North Carolina who need a home hauled, set, tied down and hooked up, or an old home torn down and taken to the landfill. Moves far from East Tennessee are lower priority.
