Costello Compliance

Costello Compliance is an affordable housing compliance consultancy and training provider. It works across Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, HOME, National Housing Trust Fund, HUD and Rural Development programs, serving owners, developers, property management staff, state agencies and monitoring bodies.

Training is delivered three ways: scheduled live public webinars, customizable private live training delivered in person or virtually to a single organization, and online on-demand courses through Costello University. On-demand courses are mostly video-based and broken into short segments, with progress-check quizzes, progress that syncs across devices, iOS and Android apps, and updates made within hours of a regulatory change. Beyond training, the firm handles HUD and Rural Development subsidy processing, utility allowance calculations, state and company compliance manuals, compliance system analysis and consulting.

The firm is part of the Costello Companies, a group that develops, builds and manages multifamily housing, and it draws on that operating experience; its compliance staff also participate in property and asset management duties. Its team members have worked with over two-thirds of the state tax credit allocating agencies on consulting, compliance monitoring or training. Its office is in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Course prices are published per session, and private training and consulting are quoted per engagement. Listed sessions include a four-hour HOME compliance webinar at $249, Tax Credit 101 sessions at $295 each or $885 for the four-session series, and a 90-minute on-demand NHTF replay at $199 with a workbook, a required quiz and 30 days of access.
