Cavco Industries

Cavco Industries builds manufactured homes, modular homes, park model RVs and cabins in climate-controlled factories and sells them through independent retailers and company-owned sales centers. The company was founded in Phoenix in 1965, when its founder was building truck campers behind his father's lumberyard, and moved to mobile homes exclusively after the 1973 gas shortage.

On April 1, 2025 Cavco brought its acquired home manufacturing brands under the Cavco name. The plants that traded as Fleetwood, Palm Harbor, Chariot Eagle, Fairmont, Friendship, Destiny, Colony, Solitaire and Commodore, which itself carried Pennwest, Manorwood, R-Anell and Midcountry, along with Oak Creek, now operate as Cavco locations. Financing and insurance are in-house through CountryPlace Mortgage, the Cavco Insurance Division and Standard Casualty Company.

Production runs from 31 factories supported by 79 company-owned retail sales centers. Each plant publishes the states it serves, so the model range open to a community owner depends on which plant covers that state; plants sit in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin, and several also serve Canadian provinces.

Cavco is publicly traded on Nasdaq under CVCO. Home prices are not published on the corporate site and come from the retailer, which is also where a buyer confirms what is and is not included in a quoted price.
