Botkeeper is an AI bookkeeping platform built for accounting firms rather than for end businesses. Firms license it per client to automate transaction categorization, bank reconciliation, journal entries, and month-end close, and can layer in staffed services when automation alone is not enough.

Licenses include AI-powered transaction categorization, automated bank reconciliation and journal entries, an autonomous month-end review with anomaly detection, a Firm Insights dashboard, and a Close Tracker that runs firm-wide or client by client. Client and User Management controls access with roles and permissions set at both firm and client level and lets a firm brand its portal with its own logo and favicon. A Scoping Tool pulls data points from a prospective client's books and suggests the right package, which the company says takes about five minutes per client. Collaboration runs through an Activity Hub, task and project management, recurring workflows and client requests, and unlimited document storage.

On security, Botkeeper reports SOC 2 Type 2 compliance, secure financial institution linking, a password manager, encrypted data storage, and role-based permissions. It says the platform has been one of the top-selling automated bookkeeping solutions for eight years, and that its process has been used by over 200 accounting firms and their 5000+ business clients.

Pricing is per license, where one license equals one client, and falls as volume rises: the published tiers list $149 and $134 for one to four licenses, $109 and $98 for five to nine, $79 and $71 for ten to twenty-four, and $59 and $53 for twenty-five or more, with a 10% saving for annual billing. Self-guided onboarding and standard support are included, with paid support upgrades available. Botkeeper lists offices in St. Petersburg, Florida; Boston, Massachusetts; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Bataan in the Philippines.
