Blossman Gas
Blossman Gas is a family-owned propane distributor founded in 1951, when its founder moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast and took over two stores from his brother. It has grown from one office and one truck to over 75 branches, and says it is located in 12 Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic states and ranks as the 9th largest propane dealer in the country.
For community and park owners, the relevant line is construction and commercial service. Blossman installs complete Central Gas Distribution Systems that provide metered, underground-piped gas service to new communities. It also installs above- and below-ground propane tanks, supplies and installs appliances for new construction, and provides temporary heating equipment and fuel to keep cold-weather construction moving.
On the residential side the company delivers propane, sells and installs gas and electric appliances, and services gas systems. It runs background checks on employees, and its app lets customers pay bills, request propane, and view recent transactions. A referral program gives 25 free gallons of propane for each customer referred, with no limit on referrals.
The site does not publish per-gallon pricing, tank rental terms, or contract structures, and it does not name which 12 states its branches sit in, so confirm coverage and terms for a specific property. Company leadership also manages Alliance AutoGas, a propane autogas fueling and vehicle network operating in 48 U.S. states and Canada, of which Blossman Gas, Inc. is the managing member.

Common questions
- What is propane and where does it come from?
- Propane, also called LP gas or LPG, is produced from natural gas processing or crude oil refining. Blossman says about 90 percent of its propane is produced in America. It is nontoxic, colorless, and virtually odorless, so ethyl mercaptan is added to give it a rotten-egg smell that makes a leak detectable.
- How flammable is propane?
- Propane has a narrow range of flammability: the propane-air mix must contain 2.2 to 9.6 percent propane vapor to ignite, and the ignition source must reach at least 940 degrees Fahrenheit, against 430 to 500 degrees for gasoline. Propane is stored as a liquid under pressure and released as vapor; if liquid propane leaks, it vaporizes and dissipates into the air.
