Baja Construction

Baja Construction Co., Inc. trades as Baja Carports and designs, engineers, and builds steel canopy structures. It was founded in Martinez, California in 1981 and builds nationwide, covering solar carports, shade carports, and covered storage for RVs, boats, and vehicles.

Design, engineering, and installation are handled in-house rather than subcontracted. On solar work the company engineers to existing structural loads, coordinates with the customer's solar partner or recommends one, and delivers the structure; panel supply is a separate scope. Parking garage top-deck canopies and mini-storage structures are established product lines, alongside carport repair.

The company reports 45 years of work, 500 MW of installed solar carport capacity, and a million parking spaces covered. Its first mini-storage project was completed in Marina, California; it built its first solar carports for RVs in 1990; it completed a utility-scale solar carport for the Port Authority of New York in 2011-12; and it received a US Department of Commerce Export Achievement Certificate in 2017 for work completed in Mexico.

Regional offices are in Martinez and Southern California, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Pearl City, Hawaii, each with its own contractor license number. Free quotes on 1-800-366-9600. Prices are not published, so confirm whether a quote covers the structure only or structure plus solar coordination.
