AmCoBi (American Conservation & Billing Solutions)

American Conservation & Billing Solutions (AmCoBi) is a Colorado Springs utility billing company serving multifamily owners, property managers, and water utilities. It calculates, prints, and mails resident utility statements, offers electronic billing, and reports amounts billed, payments received, and past due balances back to management.

Billing runs either from submeter reads or through a Ratio Utility Billing System (RUBS), where a master-metered property's bill is allocated across units. AmCoBi publishes instructional material on calculating a RUBS water and sewer bill, including a free worksheet, for owners handling small properties themselves.

An optional payment plan moves collections to AmCoBi: residents pay online, by mobile, or by phone; AmCoBi collects, records, and deposits the payments, remits to the owner or manager on a schedule, sends late letters, assists with collections, and files liens when needed. Billing data can be transferred into property management applications, and both managers and residents log into a web portal for statements, payment history, move-in and move-out entry, and management reports.

The firm also works with housing authorities and other HUD-subsidized owners on master-metered affordable properties. Plan features are published, but rates per meter and per bill are not, so pricing has to be quoted.
